Group Meeting - Statistical Modeling

Today's group meeting was about statistical measurements in relation to simulations and modelling.

It was mostly about Markov Chains, the Poisson Distribution, and Poisson Process. The big thing to take from a Markov chain is that the probability of moving to state A from state B is independent of the previous state. It simplifies the math in the models a lot.

It was interesting to her "Poisson" pronounced as "poi'zən" rather than as "pwä-'sOn-".
